ニコWhat is Nico?ニコとは

Press-on nails,
painted the Japanese way.

Nico Press on Nails is a small studio in Oregon where Japanese nail artist Emi hand-paints custom gel press-on nails, made to order in each customer's size and shape. Every set is built in layers of cured gel, the same way detailed nail art is done in Japanese salons, so it looks like a fresh salon manicure but goes on at home in about 15 minutes.

The collection includes cat-eye, French tip, chrome, leopard print, Japanese blush, and 3D gold nail art on almond, coffin, oval, or square tips. Each set has 10 nails plus spare sizes and a full application kit, lasts about one to two weeks with glue, and can be removed gently and worn again. Collection sets start at $54 and custom designs at $72, shipped anywhere in the US.

04The artist作家

Painted by Emi

Emi grew up in Japan, where nail art is a small, everyday joy: a single gold line, a glaze of chrome, a flower no bigger than a grain of rice.

Today she paints every Nico set by hand in Oregon, building each design in thin layers of gel and curing it the way she learned at home. No printing, no shortcuts, and never two sets exactly alike.

The name comes from ニコニコ (niko niko), the Japanese sound of a warm smile. That's the little face in our logo, and how she hopes you feel every time you look at your hands.

08Questions質問

Good questions.

Anything else? Email hello@niconails.com or message @nico.pressons on Instagram. Emi reads every message.

I've never worn press-ons. Is it hard?

Not at all. Every box includes simple steps and everything you need. Most first-timers are done in about 15 minutes.

How long does a set last?

About one to two weeks with nail glue, depending on your nails and how you use your hands. Adhesive tabs are gentler and great for a day or a weekend.

Can I wear them more than once?

Yes. Remove them gently, buff off the old glue, and store them in their case. With care, a set can be worn many times.

Will they damage my natural nails?

Not when removed properly. Soak in warm, soapy water with a little cuticle oil for 10 to 15 minutes, then lift gently from the side. Never pry or pull.

How do I find my size?

Use the size chart, measure each nail in millimeters, or add a $12 sizing kit in the shape you plan to order: almond, coffin, oval, or square. Its cost comes off your first set.

What nail shapes do you offer?

Almond, coffin (also called ballerina), oval, and square, in short, medium, or long. Every design can be painted on any of them.

What if a nail doesn't fit?

Email Emi a photo after your set arrives and she'll repaint that nail in the right size, free.

How does ordering and payment work?

Add your set to the bag and send your order request. Emi double-checks your sizes, then emails you a secure payment link and your ship date. Nothing is charged until you pay that link.

When will my set arrive?

Every set is painted to order in Oregon. Emi confirms your ship date by email when she confirms your order.

Are hand-painted press-on nails worth it?

If you love detailed nail art, yes. You get salon-level gel work, like cat-eye, chrome, French tips, and 3D details, for less than a typical salon art appointment, without the time in the chair, and you can wear the same set more than once.

How are hand-painted press-ons different from drugstore press-ons?

Drugstore press-ons are printed and mass-produced in fixed sizes. Nico sets are painted by hand in layers of cured gel, made to your measurements and shape, and finished with details like hand-drawn line art and sculpted 3D charms.

Where are Nico press-on nails made?

Every set is hand-painted by Japanese nail artist Emi in Oregon, USA, and shipped anywhere in the United States.

Can you make press-on nails for a wedding or event?

Yes. Order a custom set, share your colors or inspiration, and Emi will sketch a design for your approval. Order early and start with a sizing kit so the fit is perfect on the day.

Where can I see more of Emi's nail art?
